A solo exhibition of new works by Rico White
‘Delphinium’ continues White’s exploration of the interaction between the physical and the non-physical manifestation of emotion in the human body, narrated through semi-performance based studies.
White uses abstraction and atmospheric mark-making to set the tone, with the emotional intent often cascading through the canvas in a blur of figures. The studies draw on a trusted vocabulary of subtle body language with focus on gesturing hands to lead the way. The works are characteristically imbued with stark negative spaces interacting with highly illuminated details to create a landscape of physical and emotional presence
