Elements presents 14 new artworks from Claudia Limacher's new collection. Delving deeper into her interpretation of the natural world that surrounds her, projecting a sphere of the surreal, where her observations are embodied as an abstraction, overlapping with the five natural elements - Earth, Water, Fire, Wood and Metal.
At once recalling Monet and his Waterlilies and the abstract expressionists of the 1940's and 50's, Limacher's paintings organic forms inspired by nature with a synsthetic and merging of the senses to express her inner world through a mostly instinctive symphony of colours.
Rarely starting a canvas with a specific image in mind, Limacher rather lets her imagination take over to create spontaneous scenes that are not direct reproductions of a natural scene. Using a variety of mediums, from oil, acrylic, aerosol and gold leaf, Limacher transfers emotions to canvas without boundaries.
